BOYNTON BEACH, Fla.—July 12, 2004—Med-InfoChip, LLC, announced today the introduction of the Med-InfoChip™, an innovative product that allows a person to organize, carry and maintain his or her medical profile at all times. Designed to be worn around the neck, attached to a keychain or carried in a wallet, this lightweight, affordable ‘plug and play’ device inserts into a USB port on any computer for easy access by a patient, physician or emergency responder. Whether they are healthy or sick, most people see one or more doctors or specialists per year, often several times. During these visits, they are typically asked to recite from memory myriad information such as insurance information, doctor names and telephone numbers, medical conditions, medications and dosages, allergies and immunizations. Users can create a medical profile within minutes by filling out the easy-to-use template. Pre-designed forms include: allergies, diseases, medications, immunizations, emergency contacts, past medical procedures, family medical history, medical directives, insurance information and more. The large storage capacity of the device allows users to also include graphical items, such as photos, X-rays, EKGs, passports and birth certificates.
